COMMENTS: Muhammad Soliman Muhammad

The title of O'Connor's book (Better English Pronunciation) introduces the content and the end (you mean objective) of t studying the book which is to reach (achieve) a better English pronunciation. The preface of the 2nd Edition of the book is focusing on the shift from using the transcription of Daniel Jones's English pronouncing Dictionary (Dent?) to the use of the IPA(define). The new transcription differs from the old only in the matter of symbols for the English vowels. The contents (chapters is a better word) of the book are introduced logically starting with:1-problems in pronunciationAnd moving to 2-how the speech organs work in EnglishTo produce 3-The consonants of English And its 4-sequences Also 5-the vowels of English And6-words in company To clarify the stress in English, and finally 7-Intonation Through which our English pronunciation can be understood perfectly and correctly. In Appendix 1, the author introduces the difficulties of English pronunciation for the speakers of Arabic and some other languages. Very good Muhammad.
